UPDATE DECEMBER 2016 - I have upgraded my review from 4 star to 5 stars because I used this drive in an external caddy for a year and now I put it in my one year old laptop that my dad has purchase from me (gigabyte Q2442) and I purchased a gigabyte P34 laptop... anyway, this nice SSD went inside the Gigabyte Q2442 and it is stormingly FAST! no complaints and still going strong so I would definitely consider a PNY if I ever want another SSD in the future ( sandisk and PNY are the only two brands I trust for STORAGE that is circuit board and chip based - Hitachi for traditional mechanical storage until Seagate fix their issues, they were fantastic until circa 2009 when they had a lot of problems and have been going down hill ever since with high fail rates ) CRUCIAL for RAM upgrades! :)Original 20155 reviewThey say SSD DRIVES ARE super fast, but I am using this inside an external case ( I also tried it inside my 2015 Gigabyte SATA III based laptop ) and I saw no real increase in performance.HOWEVER, I did not buy it for that reason, I purchased this as an alternative to paying MORE for 2 x 25GB USB PEN DRIVES so I could back up my video editing and this PNY DRIVE is FAR FAR FASTER than a USB PEN DRIVE, so I am completely satisfied and happily using it as my BACK UP DRIVE, no complaints at all.
