Item arrived as scheduled in excellent condition. Set up was super easy. Just plug one end of the cable to the disk and the other end to a usb port. the two ends are different so you can't plug them in wrong. After plugging in to the usb port the device was ready to use.So far the speed is great and there are no problems.One thing that was not so good was the length of the usb cable. it is extremely short. Durante un año solo lo he usado 3 veces y no le he dado ningún tipo de uso rudo; sin embargo, la entrada del conector USB 3.0 Micro B, que es de plástico, se desintegró quedado solo los filamentos dejando inutilizable el disco duro. Es un engaño que sea de uso rudo o que su durabilidad sea extrema. Gekauft wurde die 5TB Variante, welche 4,54 TB tatsächliche Kapa hat.Mit Geschwindigkeitsangaben hält sich der Hersteller traditionell bedeckt, deshalb möchte ich da etwas Licht ins Dunkel bringen.Gemessen wurde an einem USB 3.2 Gen 1x1 Anschluß, NTFS formatiert, Test sequentiell:Crystal Diskmark: Lesen 133 MB/s - Schreiben: 134 MB/sHD Tune Pro: Lesen 138 MB/s - Schreiben: 138 MB/sWin Explorer: Lesen 133 MB/s - Schreiben: 134 MB/sNach sechs Wochen Dauerbetrieb hat eine von zweien, die ich seither benutze, den Geist aufgegeben. Robust, wasserfest, langlebig, mit militärisch.. blablabla .....6 Wochen ....war angeschlossen und lag bei mir auf dem Tisch.... hat meinen laufenden PC zum Absturz gebracht, wurde heiß und hat mich dann nicht mehr auf die Daten zugreifen lassen.Ich hatte nächsten Tag schon den Ersatz, aber sechs Tage Arbeit sind mir durch den Datenverlust nicht ersetzt worden.I picked up the 2TB black model at a price drop to £55 and what a bargain for a portable rugged external HDD!The Tech Stuff:The interface is USB 3.2 GEN 1 = USB 3.0 under the old naming scheme, and uses the odd-looking USB type B Micro connector (it really is shaped like a B) at the drive end of the cable, with a USB type A (colour coded blue) at the other end. You'll need to plug it into a USB 3.0 port to get the best result from its speed, but it is backwards compliant with USB 2 ports.It draws 5 volts power from the device you plug it into, so it doesn't require a mains cable. The data cable is on the short side, so I've given enough information above to source an alternative if that is a problem for your use case. The included cable neatly fits into a groove around the shell for transport.The drive inside is a 2.5 5,400 rpm model, although I don't know which brand because I haven't opened the shell.The outer shell is rugged, being both shock and water resistant, and comes with a range of colour banded options if you want to use that to distinguish one drive from another at a glance (or just to suit your tastes).It will work with modern game consoles once you format it with their in-built options.I hope I've given enough information to inform and help you with your purchasing requirements.La primera vez que lo use todo estuvo bien, sin embargo, cuando lo volví a conectar para guardar los archivos de mi pc este dispositivo ya no servia...Trate de:Conectarlo varias vecescambiar el puerto USB que estaba usando en mi pcSoplar el compartimiento del cable y donde se conecta al aparato jajaTambién note que desde el primer uso el apartado en el disco duro se sumió (Se hizo para adentro del aparato) (Tampoco pensé que fuera a causar algún problema en ese momento RIP ) y supongo que por esto ya no sirve. Desgraciadamente este disco duro lo compre para hacer el respaldo de mis archivos 1 vez al mis y sorpresa la segunda vez que quise hacer el respaldo el aparato no sirvió.Trate de hacer la devolución pero ya había pasado mas de un mes desde mi compra y si lo quisiera devolver el disco duro todavía tiene mis archivos personales en el y no lo puede formatear porque no sirve...No recomiendo este producto ya que no esta bien planeada la conectividad y si pasa que se sume la entrada como a mi me paso deja de servir.Igualmente trate de conectar el cable de varias maneras y solo se prendió la luz azul cuando sacaba un poco el cable que estaba conectado pero aun así no sirvió de nada :(
