Muy prácticoI've used Orico for storage solutions for my drives since getting an aluminium HDD caddy. Solid and reliable. I initially expected this to be fully aluminium too (it looks like it in the pictures), but only the cooling fin assembly was. That said, it's a really easy install - if you've done this on a PC, it's pretty much exactly the same. If not, it's really simple and you can't go wrong. Just be careful with the screws - they are tiny and don't need much force for tightening (no vibrations so it won't work loose like spinning platter drives). Once it's in, thermal pad added, all screwed back together, you're done! There's a couple of issues with this though - not all of it down to the unit itself either.Firstly, the bundled cables are really small - but it's great they have both USB-C and USB-A connectors for plugging into your machine. That's good, although I am totally USB-C/Thunderbolt so it's irrelevant to me.Secondly, although the unit is really lightweight, this is also a big problem. I ended up getting a longer cable for my laptop->drive so I could have it attached when using the computer on my lap. However, this is where the USB-C cables fail me. Because the drive is so light, I cannot get it to sit flat properly in the places I need it to sit. In part owing to weight, but also the cable specs make them very rigid compared to older USB 3.0 and 2.0 cables, which could be more flexible. Finally, it will get hot on top - unfortunately without a temperature sensor on board either the socket board (or the SSD) I can't tell if it's getting too hot. I know NMVe drives will get quite warm in operation (especially heavy write sessions) so it's not an issue, but would be handy to know whether it's getting too hot and it is throttling the drive itself. Can't say I've noticed performance loss. That said, 10/10 for the unit itself, another solid reliable Orico product. Needs a bit of lead in it to give it some weight though.Check the quirks of the different interface types. Despite looking very similar, M.2 NVMe and M.2 SATA are different.Mine is an NVMe, so worked perfectly with this enclosure. There is a heatsink pad and 2 sets of mounting fixings provided, which is a nice touch (as long as you store them somewhere safe!).My main gripe:Throughput with USB 3.0 is rubbish, although USB-C performs well.I used both the supplied cables and my own with the same results so I don't think it is the cables.Nowhere near advertised speed, tested with an extremely capable NVMe drive but still only achieves SATA speeds. As the lid screws down from above, I’ve attached the thermal pad to the lid so it can easily be removed & the ssd swapped out. On older usb 3 ports sustained 300mb read and write were achieved with a kioxia basic nvme drive. Not sure why but I couldn't format the drive with windows 11. Drivers didn't work. Tried everything. Only when I plugged it into my android phone did it recognise and format. Now works on windows laptop. Essentially got this for Tesla sentry mode.
