Being a long time owner of the PS5 the firmware that gave us NVME m.2 SSD upgrade was much needed. Giving us that extra space gave us faster load speeds. When I first got my NVME SSD I thought maybe the PS5 provides enough protection from over heating. I was wrong.So I have a Habit of doing Mass Transfers and copies to sort out which games goes on the faster Hard drive which is the most played games. I decided to transfer 7 games from the System Default storage to my shiny new NVME M.2 SSD. All was well, until I got the error encountered over heat screen which immediately shut down the PS5 and halted my transfer of 7 games all over 50gb per. Even while playing some games your get some stuttering of the SSD telling you it can't take any more heat.Since installation this beautiful dorsal fin heat sink. All the heat problems were gone. All of the stuttering I encountered before gone. Large transfers no problem. With it's large Dorsal fin design I'm guessing it takes the heat and spreads the heat away from the SSD and close to the surface of the case where the fan blows keep the heatsink regulated.I've had other heat sink do its job at a similar price. But this one was well design and thought out. If definitely looks like it belongs in there. Though replace the metal plate that covers the SSD it is not a big deal breaker to put it away for something that looks and feel right at home. You'll still need the same screw that you metal had but it's no big deal. I don't have any exact number but I can assure the stuttering stops and I haven't had a Over heat error since.Definitely worth the price. If and when I get my hands on another PS5 I'd get another. If you have a PS5 get one, it's easy to install. You will not make a mistake installing this. If I get a no contact thermometer I'll try to remember to update this with actual temps.
