Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
Accesssories Include, SIlicon Soft Protective Case, Carrying Case, and Screen Protector.
Long rambly review, and the picture quality is pretty trash, sorry in advance- I’m terrible at keeping things short and sweet. Longtime switch player, so a lot of my comparisons/views relate to the switch.Purchased from the seller BT-Wholesale.I initially meant to buy the OLED version (I misunderstood the listing and thought this was it, lol. Good old brain fog!) but realised after it shipped it was the LCD version that had been upgraded to 1TB. I didn’t wanna fuss over returning it and waiting even longer when I had been so excited to finally get one, I decided to keep the LCD one. The screen is significantly better than the LCD switch and I would say is almost on par with my switch OLED screen. The colours are vibrant and the screen gets much brighter than the LCD switch screen, which is what I assumed this screen would be like. The battery is significantly better than the LCD switch too, which I’m happy about, albeit less than the SD OLED battery is said to preform at, but it’s not a problem to me; I usually play my switch plugged in anyway, and I play this the same. I also have a battery pack holding case for on the go, so not a problem for me personally. The device works great after a minor hiccup; I had some issues with the physical controls not working at first, making me use the touch screen for the update and the update was not installing the first time (a restart helped the install go through on the second try and then the controls work fabulously since). My biggest “con” is the weight and positioning of the buttons (and the touchpad things) are definitely taking some getting used to coming from the switch which is significantly lighter weight, but that’s nowhere near a dealbreaker to me. I’m very happy with my purchase and it came with all accessories promised, though I have my own protective on-the-device case for it so I don’t use the silicone skin that came with it.I’d recommend this, and the seller, to anyone! I absolutely love my steam deck.
