The M.2 NVMe to U.2(SFF-8639) convert is a small PCB for connecting an M.2 SSD to a U.2 cable. It contains a PWM synchronous buck converter with an in-rush current suppression and thermal shutdown protection, as well as an SFF-8639 connector with pin-out defined by PCIe revision 3.0, which is compatible with Intel Optane SSD 800P Series and AMD Radeon R7 SSD Series, etc. The adapter also provides short circuit, over current, over temperature protection and in-rush current suppression safeguards to protect your data at all times. It's been designed with a single purpose in mind to connect the latest generation of ultra-fast M.2 NVMe SSDs to the legacy U.2 interface on your existing server or workstation.
The adapter converts the PCIe 3 x4 (Gen 3) interface of your M.2 drive into the SFF-8639 connector used by the U.2 interface on older servers, allowing you to use your super-fast storage solution in any system that supports U.2 drives.
The adapter also has a built-in PWM synchronous buck converter Power for M.2 SSDs, which allows it to power even 2TB+ capacity drives at their maximum speeds (up to 2GB/s).
This adapter also provides short circuit protection, in-rush current suppression, thermal shutdown protection and ESD HBM (Human Body Mode)/2KV on all pins and PCB traces.
