Well, got my brand new laptop on the 16th. Actually received it earlier than expected, kudos to Amazon for that. Unboxing experience is pretty satisfying, the computer is very well packed and it even lifts up when you take ot out of the box it comes in. Came with the stylus, a charger and two dongles.Fist of all, buid quality is premium, you can see and feel that it is well made and sturdy, hinges work as advertised and you indeed can open the lid with just one hand. After turning it on and configuring it, all went well, did the normal updates that all laptops require out of the box, installed chrome and went on my way to start backing up my data and rearanging folders. Here comes the first issue I found. I have a Logitech MX Ergo, pretty nice trackball mouse that I have enjoyed for the last six months or so and worked flawlessly with my previous Acer laptop, I went and installed it on the Asus and things started to happen. Bluetooth conectivity is bad. The mouse disconnects after just a few seconds being still. I mean 3 to 5 seconds, this is so annoying, everytime you move the mouse it lags. It drives me crazy.I have at least three days trying to fix this and nothing. Updated the BIOS to version 303, reinstalled all drivers, power management options are very limited in this version of Windows, so nothing seems to fix it. The MyAsus app is pretty mu h useless, all disgnostics say no issues found. My best guess is that bluetooth tries somehow to save power and goes to sleep, but there is no way to override this.I did tried the mouse in two other computers and it works fine. So I am sure its this laptop. My bluetooth headphones don't work very well either if they are paired both to the computer and phone, because lf this I decided to use the dongle for the headphones and discovered that it has a hissing noise, when connected through the usb c port, both ports. This does not happen when connected trhough the same dongle to my Pixel 4, so laptop again.Lets talk battery life, 10 hours, its a lie. I can understand they tend to overrate this times, but in my case if I get 5 hours I am lucky, and this is only using Lightroom and a Sandisk Extreme SSD drive connected through usb c. Not sure if this battery is faulty, to be honest.Laptop gets a bit hot, but nothing too serious in my opinion, its understandable being so thin and small.Overall, these are the things that have bothered me about this laptop so far.Now for the good. THE SCREEN! is amazing. Even as little as it is, quality is superb, colors are very true, is super bright and sharp. I love the 4K resolution, it allows to use very small icons so you have a lot of space when working, I love this. I am currently using it with 175% zoom, and its great. Tried going smaller but it was too small. Sound on this is very good also, surprisingly good.Another thing that I liked a lot is the trackpad and the numeric keyboard function, very usefull once you set your brain to use it. Haven't used the stylus as much, I don't care about it too much. I wanted a 2 in 1 because I travel a lot and its light and can be used as a tablet for entertainment and browsing, which is great when you are on an airport. And the power allows me to handle data and peocessing for work without having to own another bigger more powerful comouter. And last but not least, this laptop is fast, paired withmy SSD file transfer are in the order of 700MB/s which is great, coming from an HHD averaging 20 to 50 MB/s, so very useful when working with phlto and vkdeo editing. This review might be a bit longer. I will try and update about the bluetooth issues and usage all together.UPDATE:So, I was watching a video last nigjt and saw this thin greenish line at the bottom of the screen, at first I thought it was from the video itself but no, is the screen. It has a fault. I did not see it at first but when I lowered the screen brightness it was very noticeable. I thought that it appeared later on, but I did took a picture lf the laptop when new out of the box and the stripre is there. So it came like this from the factory.I will have to send it for a repair. I am very upset because of this. This is a brand new very premium laptop. This computer has everything you could want. 4k OLED 13" compact, windows ink, windows hello IR, upgradable NVME (I fit a 4tb double sided in the laptop but make sure you hold it in place while you screw in or the screw will wiggle the SSD out of place one the final turns). Even a numpad.Battery is good. Tiger lake is overhyped. I got about 4-5hrs no standby idle. I dont know how I would get even close to the rated 10-20hrs?? Right direction in increasing capacity though, but if you follow computers - Intel probably is gonna never make the reach vs ARM books. Their chips are just inherently too inefficient in today's world.Gaming: don't even think about running a real demanding game at 4k.But the deal killers for me are:1. Wobbly screen - seems to happen on every flip laptop though. I just hate sitting down to type and it just keeps wobbling after few keys. Doesn't seem like theres a way to fix that though...2. FINGERPRINT MAGNET. This case is aluminum but has tiny ridges. The ridges i believe are holding more oils of your hands. Thus, fingerprints are ALL OVER THIS. OK OK it's a touch screen so you should get used to it...but man black laptops are the worst for these grease stains. These also do not come off easy due to the ridges. You will literally have to get the alcohol out and a heavy duty towel. Worst part is once you clean it, just moving the laptop, is another fingerprint. The touchpad is a light gray - also theres finger prints all over it....and yeah the screen is touch so yep thats nasty.3. the glare is pretty bad...yeah touchscreen glass whatever but I have to use this laptop at 100% brightness in the office else the lights are all over the screen.4. In tablet mode, the laptop doesn't have a way to stay closed that way. The screen will always auto lift it self from the back of the laptop. the XPS 13 2-in-1 has a magnetic holder (i hear). This one just wobbles and there's no secure holder in tablet mode. It is not good if you put it on a table and pick up again...feels overall cheap.Overall, if you dont touch this laptop - it gets 100% everything you want. But in a flip book, the inventor with the great idea to go with a black color that soaks fingerprints was a poor choice. Maybe a white or silver variant would have solved this issue. Heck my apple space gray wasn't this bad. Also, come on manufacturers fix the wobble - its super annoying for any hard worker.UX371 is a powerful laptop with excellent sound quality and decent battery power. It works fine and it is enough mostly for daily tasks such as creating documents, presentations, videoconferencing, etc. There is no fingerprint sensor and audio jack but it comes with a USB-C audio dongle, a full HDMI port and a working stylus. It also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports capable of running external displays. The four stars is because there is no indication in the manual and other published documents about whether it can be connected to eGPU boxes or not. I could confirm that it can actually be connected to an eGPU box via Thunderbolt port and can be used for gaming, video editing or software system development.Pros: This laptop is gorgeous and feels very premium. The keyboard is big enough to type comfortably. The OLED display makes the screen very bright and colourful. Very light and compact. It has facial recognition which literally takes seconds to log in which I find to be a big plus. Very fast.Cons: Battery life for 4K OLED isn’t as long as described. My guess is it makes sense if the screen was FHD. One thing that I don’t like is how hot it gets even for minimal use. The fan doesn’t quite work well to dissipate the heat. I’ve tried to upgrade the BIOS and seems like it’s still the same. Another thing is you can’t game anything that is intense.Overall I’m still happy with the laptop even with the few points I’ve made about the cons it has.Be aware folks, it does NOT have audio jack and does NOT have microSD card reader.Other than that, it is nice.Excellent.
